Conference to address ag budget issues

Agricultural lending experts are scheduled to speak on a variety of industry topics at the upcoming "Analyzing Agricultural Budgets" conference set for Wednesday, Jan. 25, at California State University, Fresno.

The day-long conference is designed for professionals who deal directly and indirectly with agricultural commodities. The morning program will include presentations on field crop budgeting on the West Side; almond crop budgets; and forecasting revenue and expenses in the production of wine grapes. Afternoon sessions will address budgeting for stone fruit and will feature a panel discussion on "Analyzing Crop Budgets by Short and Long Term Lenders."

The conference will be held at the University Business Center, beginning at 8 a.m. Sponsors include CSU, Fresno's California Agricultural Technology Institute, the Center for Agricultural Business, and the San Joaquin Valley Ag Lenders Society.

Early registration fee is $50 for society members and $70 for non-members. For registrations after Jan. 15, the cost is $75 and $95, respectively.
