Experts discuss microbes in wine

A speaker list with international flavor heads the program of a first-time Fresno State conference focusing on the microbiological aspects of winemaking.
The event is the "Wine Spoilage Microbiology Conference," to be held March 8, 1996 on the Fresno State campus. It is designed primarily for winemakers and laboratory personnel and will include an assortment of experts in the field of wine microbiology.
International speakers include Dr. Rainer Jung representing Forschunsanstalt Geisenheim in Germany and Dr. Gianni Trioli representing Lallemand Inc.
U.S. speakers will include Dr. Don Splittstoesser from Cornell University and Dr. Bruce Zoecklein of the Virginia Polytechnical Institute, as well as scientists from the University of California and California State University sytems.
Conference sponsors include the Viticulture and Enology Research Center (VERC) and the California Agricultural Technology Institute (CATI).
