Mission Statement
The Vincent E. Petrucci Library collects information on the subjects of viticulture and enology, and provides the materials, services, and facility necessary to meet current and future information needs of students, faculty, staff, and industry. Special emphasis is placed on offering viticulture materials, reference materials and services.Library Profile
The Vincent E. Petrucci Library supports the curriculum of the classes offered in the areas of viticulture and enology as well as research projects being conducted at the Viticulture and Enology Research Center (VERC). VERC is recognized as a leader of applied research in the fields of viticulture and enology, making it important that the library collects information to support those research endeavors. In addition to major grants and contracts leading to long-term research commitments, VERC fulfills requests to perform short-term research services for industry, private growers, and agribusiness. The library collects and displays VERC faculty and staff research findings and shares the findings with library users world-wide.The library is open to the public, and patrons from outside the university community are encouraged to stop by and make use of the wide range of information available. The library owns approximately 700 volumes pertaining to the topics of viticulture and enology, and has current subscriptions to 32 periodicals in the field. The library also has an extensive pamphlet file containing many leaflets and informational brochures. Materials in the library do not circulate, but can be used inside the library.
Library Funding Support
The Vincent E. Petrucci Library is supported by an endowment established in 1996 by the Viticulture Alumni Club. The endowment supports all library operations. The alumni club is dedicated to enhancing the education of current students by providing them with a library specializing in the topics of viticulture and enology.The Vincent E. Petrucci Library is supported by the California State University, Fresno Viticulture Alumni Club.
