Programs and Services
The Viticulture and Enology Research Center (VERC) works with faculty from the Department of Viticulture and Enology, as well as other departments or institutions, to oversee programs that serve students’ academic needs, as well as provide critical research for the grape and wine industry.
Research projects are awarded through competitive research grants and are funded by state and private industry dollars. State projects include those administered through the California State University, Agricultural Research Initiative (CSU/ARI).
Research areas include all aspects of viticulture and enology, including raisin, wine and table grapes, and wine. VERC’s facilities also enable faculty and research scientists to conduct “service” projects on products or equipment for the grape and wine industry.
